Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) has once again gained international acclaim as its groundbreaking research on smart onion farming secured the Best Presentation Award at the 6th Asia Joint Conference on Computing (AJCC2025) at the Kansai Kenshu Center in Osaka, Japan, from 21-24 April.

Competing against top-tier research from across the continent, the project stood out for its innovative approach to revolutionizing agricultural productivity through smart farming technologies.

The award-winning study, titled “Development of Smart Technologies for Profitable Onion Production,” was funded by the Department of Science and Technology - Grants-in-Aid (DOST-GIA) and presented by Mr. Jayson J. Elenzano, Associate Professor III and project member, under the leadership of Dr. Amy Lizbeth J. Rico, General Manager of SMART Agriculture Center.

In solidarity with the Filipino nation, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) will celebrate 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 tomorrow, 1 May, with a day off from all classes and office transactions. Regular services will resume on 2 May (Friday).

As we honor the employees of our University–the backbone and lifeblood of TAU’s existence–by recommitting to social justice, let's also continue improving operational systems, amplifying marginalized voices, and building a TAU where every worker's contribution is valued. Because when our dedicated workforce thrives, our entire University soars even higher.
