Dr. Krestel Joy V. Isla, faculty member of College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) leads a delegation of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine four (4) students to represent Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in the โVet Beyond Borders:ย Labs, Wildlife, and Global Learningโ program at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) as part of the Brawijaya International Student Mobility Awards (BISMA) from April 13 to 18, 2026.
Serving as an international mobility initiative, this program provides an academic platform for Prof. Isla to share her clinical expertise as a visiting lecturer while the four (4) DVM students consisting of Mr. Scott Renz Owen Tomas, Ms. Jedhsa Romelyn G. Buayan, Mr. David Russel S. Catolico, and Mr. Alfred James M. Soriano will join as participants to engage in hands-on laboratory activities and specialized field learning.ย
The program also includes advanced training in frozen semen collection and processing at the Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan (BBIB) Singosari, as well as immersive exposure to wildlife handling and conservation at Taman Safari Prigen, ensuring participants gain direct experience in veterinary practices unique to the Southeast Asian biological landscape. With this, participants will be able to acquire critical professional competence in diagnostics and exotic animal medicine, thereby enhancing their practical knowledge of global veterinary standards.
