In a series of intense matches in various sporting events, the TAU Carabaos brought grit and glory on Day 2 of the SCUAA (State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association) III Regional Meet 2026, which will run from 21-27 February at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST).

TAU’s Kata team opened fire, piling up medals in the Seniors category. The Carabaos showed flawless technique to claim two silver and one bronze medal, while the Kumite team took over with powerful counterattacks and perfectly timed strikes to bring home numerous silver and bronze medals.

From their accurate footwork to their winning finish combinations, TAU’s Karatedo team has clearly shown they mean business.

At the Sumacab Campus Open Gymnasium of the NEUST, the Arnis team of TAU demonstrated impeccable timing and precision in both traditional and non-traditional events. Every move, every attack, and every transition exuded perfection, discipline, and expertise in Filipino martial arts.

TAU’s Beach Volleyball men’s duo dominated the court, winning their match in straight sets with powerful serves and perfect touches at the net. The women’s team fought hard but lost their opening match against the home team of NEUST.

On the court, the TAU Men’s Basketball team set the tone early, crushing the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) with a resounding double-digit victory to secure their

TAU’s women woodpushers opened with back-to-back wins, controlling the boards with calculated attacks and steady endgames. The men’s team split results in early rounds, keeping themselves within striking distance as the tournament heads into crucial matchups.

𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐬, 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝

Lawn Tennis had tough breaks in men’s and women’s singles matches, failing to win in straight sets and longer matches. The doubles teams hope to mount a comeback in the next matches.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at the Techno Hub, held at the Sumacab Campus, the TAU teams had tough times in the initial matches, but are still in the running for redemption matches.

Baseball action at the Nueva Ecija Sports Complex saw the home team from NEUST unleash a powerful attack in the early innings, leaving TAU reeling. The Carabaos hope to mount a stronger attack in their next match.

Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams also had tough times against the home teams, but are still regrouping for the next rotation.

Through their podium achievements and nail-biting losses, Day 2 of the competition proves one thing: the TAU Carabaos are indeed fighting with heart, grit, and determination. The matches are far from over—and the Carabaos are far from finished.
