In line with the CHEDRO III Regional Memorandum issued by the Commission on Higher Education – Regional Office III, the University hereby informs and strongly warns all students and stakeholders, particularly UniFAST, TES (Tertiary Education Subsidy), and TDP (Tulong Dunong Program) grantees, regarding the increasing incidents of fraudulent schemes, phishing attempts, and cybercrime activities.

These malicious activities are designed to deceive beneficiaries by impersonating legitimate government personnel or institutions.

Grantees are advised to be vigilant against the following:

  • Fake UniFAST Representatives – Individuals pretending to be CHED/UniFAST personnel requesting personal data, passwords, or OTPs

  • Processing Fee Scams – Demanding payments for β€œrelease,” β€œverification,” or β€œactivation” of benefits (legitimate grants DO NOT require fees)

  • Phishing Links and Fake Websites – Links directing users to fake portals requesting login or banking details

  • Fake Benefit Release Notifications – Messages claiming grants have been approved and asking users to click suspicious links

  • Bank Account Verification Scams – Requests for ATM PINs, account numbers, OTPs, or mobile banking credentials

  • Social Media Impersonation – Fake accounts using CHED/UniFAST logos to solicit information or money

  • Prize/Bonus Grant Scams – Claims of additional cash incentives requiring payment or personal data

  • Money Mule Schemes – Requests to use personal accounts for β€œtransfer of funds”

  • Identity Theft Attempts – Collection of IDs, school records, or signatures for fraudulent use

  • False Benefit Release Claims – Misleading announcements about immediate fund release or refund requirements

To protect your personal information and financial security, please observe the following:

  • Never share passwords, PINs, OTPs, or online banking details with anyone

  • Do not send money to individuals claiming to facilitate grant release

  • Always verify announcements through official CHED, UniFAST, or University channels

  • Report suspicious messages, emails, calls, or social media accounts immediately

  • Ignore links requesting confidential information or payment for processing

  • Be cautious of unsolicited messages claiming urgent grant updates

All concerned units are directed to widely disseminate this advisory through official communication channels, bulletin boards, and social media platforms to ensure maximum awareness and protection of students.

The University reiterates its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of government assistance programs and ensuring the security of all beneficiaries.

For guidance and verification, please coordinate only with your respective college offices or authorized University officials.

Stay alert. Stay informed. Stay protected.
