Serving as a comprehensive review of the University's 2025 academic-related accomplishments and a strategic blueprint for next year's targets, the Office of the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (OVPASA), under the leadership of Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, convened for its Annual Performance Review on 23 February at the Bamboo Training Center.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson opened the proceedings, emphasizing that an institution is defined not by its infrastructure, but by the quality of the interactions within it, describing the day's presentations as a celebration of those very connections.

“The presentations are not merely statistical reports; they are narratives of hard work, especially from our six colleges, and the offices under OVPFA. They tell the story of how we have shaped young minds, advanced research, and pioneered solutions,” Dr. Salunson emphasized.

The first half of the review delved into the multifaceted achievements of the University’s core support systems. Attendees and evaluators received detailed briefings on Sociocultural Development, Sports Programs, and the National Service Training Program (NSTP), followed by interactive forums. The discussions also prioritized critical academic services, including Curriculum and Instruction, University Library Services, Admission and Registration, and Student Placement, underscoring a unified commitment to holistic student support and operational excellence.

In the afternoon, the spotlight shifted to individual academic units, where deans presented a look at their 2025 successes and hurdles. Representatives from the Laboratory School (LS), College of Education (CEd), College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), and College of Engineering and Technology (CET) shared data-driven insights into their respective departments. These presentations sparked engaged dialogue during open forum periods, allowing stakeholders to address specific challenges faced by faculty, staff, and students.

The momentum continued as the remaining units: College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), College of Business and Management (CBM), and the Graduate Program, demonstrated the breadth of academic innovation occurring across the disciplines. The structured format ensured that every college had the opportunity to seek clarification and offer suggestions for improvement. This meticulous approach to information sharing reflects the university’s dedication to transparency and the continuous refinement of its 26 graduate and undergraduate offerings.

While the day was rooted in analyzing the data of the previous year, the final atmosphere was one of future-facing optimism. By addressing the evolving needs of the academic community, the 2025 Annual Performance Review successfully laid the groundwork for the university’s strategic initiatives in the coming year.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Torres emphasized that the institution remains committed to a focused, data-driven approach that stays responsive to the shifting demands of higher education as they move forward.

“From strengthening academic programs and faculty development initiatives to enhancing student support systems and sustaining quality assurance efforts, our accomplishments demonstrate purposeful leadership, collaboration, and institutional resilience,” Dr. Torres shared.
