Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) officials headed by its President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson and company representatives of Greenstone Pharmaceutical HK Inc. (GHPHKI), maker of KATINKO led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms. Melissa Yeung-Yap, ink a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), formalizing a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration in research, innovation, and extension initiatives at the Provincial Capitol, Governors Office, Tarlac, 29 April.
The agreement outlines the respective roles and responsibilities of both parties in implementing a collaborative herbal plant production program. TAU undertakes to identify and organize qualified farmers, provide technical training and capacity-building programs through extension activities, and provide continuous assistance and monitoring to ensure compliance with production standards. It also facilitates coordination with partner farmers and supports the production of herbal plants in line with the company's required volumes, varieties, and specifications.
Meanwhile, GHPHKI maker of Katinko, provides technical guidance on plant varieties and quality standards, supports training initiatives through industry expertise, and regularly shares production requirements to guide planning. The company also commits to purchasing and procuring herbal raw materials from the University and its partner farmers, subject to quality, quantity, and regulatory standards, while exploring sustainable supply arrangements with trained producers.
