Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson delivers his message during the opening ceremony of the 2026 International Mushroom Congress and National Forum on the Future of Mushrooms on May 28 at AMCO Sabang Beach Resort, Aurora Province. The event gathers researchers, scientists, mushroom experts, industry partners, and stakeholders from various institutions and countries under the theme, “Global Synergies in Mushroom Science and Technologies for Sustainable Development.”

The opening program features welcome messages from host institutions, partner organizations, and agency co-organizers, underscoring the importance of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange in advancing mushroom science and sustainable development. Aurora Province Governor Hon. Engr. Isidro P. Galban and Councilor Julius Grefalda, representing Baler Mayor Hon. Rhett Ronan T. Angara, also grace the occasion and express support for initiatives that strengthen research, agricultural innovation, and regional development.

Serving as keynote speaker, Dr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat, CESO III, Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology Region III, highlights the vital role of science, technology, and strategic partnerships in cultivating a more sustainable future through mushroom research and development. The morning session likewise features plenary lectures and research pitching presentations that foster the exchange of ideas, strengthen global networks, and inspire innovations that continue to shape the future of the mushroom industry.
