The 2026 National Innovation: From Mind to Market gathers researchers, students, and industry partners at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), underscoring the institution’s commitment to transforming ideas into impactful solutions. Spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension and Training (VPRET) under the leadership ofΒ  Dr. Edmar N. Franquera and the Department of Research and Development led by their Director; Dr. Noel J. Petero, the event opens with a message that frames the initiative as more than a formal gathering. In his welcome remarks, Dr. Franquera highlights the activity as a celebration of TAU’s role as a dynamic hub for education, agriculture, and technology, while extending appreciation to external partners and the steadfast support of the university administration.

In his message, the University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson emphasizes the success of the undertaking as a product of strong collaboration among VPRET offices and partner institutions. He acknowledges the continued support of the Department of Science and Technology - Tarlac Provincial Science and Technology Office, led by Provincial Director Karen Y. DaΓ±ez, who also serves as the keynote speaker.

In her address, Director DaΓ±ez underscores the progression from knowledge generation to utilization, from concept to communication, and ultimately from mind to market. She shares compelling examples of successful innovations that began as simple ideas and evolved into market-ready products, noting TAU’s own contributions through technologies such as Kamlong and sweetpotato disease detection systems clear testaments to research-driven innovation reaching practical application.

The morning session further enriches the discourse through β€œThe Inverted Triangle” plenary delivered by Dr. Maribel C. Ramales, offering insights into strategic innovation frameworks. The program concludes with a networking activity at the β€œTech Gallery,” where students and participants actively engage with showcased technologies and innovations.Β
