The long wait is finally over as the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) officially kicked off its CAF Week Celebration on 18 February. The campus grounds erupted in a sea of colors and college pride, marking the start of a highly anticipated week that honors the agricultural heritage, talent, and skills of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) stakeholders.

The festivities commenced with a parade where different programs proudly showcased their respective organizations and teams. The procession featured the Crop Science Society (CSS) – Red Bulls, League of Animal Science Students (LASS) – Carabao, Forestry Student Organization (FSO) – White Hawk, Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Inc. (PAFTI) – Blue Shark, and the Ranchers’ Club Philippines (TAU Chapter).

Following the parade, students gathered to watch the performances of the various organizations during the Festival Dance competition. Grooving to the rhythmic beat of β€œNatural Tarlac” music, the performers captivated the audience with choreographed routines that celebrated local culture. The energy reached its peak during the awarding ceremony, where the CSS claimed the championship, while FSO secured 1st runner-up, PAFT Inc. placed 2nd runner-up, and LASS took the 3rd runner-up.

The excitement continued well into the afternoon as the CAF grounds transformed into a marketplace. Student-led booths opened their doors, offering a variety of delicious food and refreshments to students, faculty, and guests.

Day one of CAF Week concluded on a nostalgic and high-energy note with Laro ng Lahi. Students traded their gadgets for traditional Filipino games, fostering a sense of camaraderie and cultural appreciation through friendly competition.Β
