With a steadfast commitment to excellence, accountability, and transformative service, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) convened for the Presentation of the Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Accomplishment of the Office of the Vice-President for Research, Extension, and Training on 19 February 2026 at the TAUโBamboo Training Center. The presenters and distinguished external evaluators were formally welcomed, and the objectives of the presentation were clearly laid down by the University President, Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, through video conferencing, underscores the Universityโs unified direction toward innovation, impact, and inclusive growth. The activity was attended by the University Officials, including Vice-President for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice-President for Finance and Administration;ย Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo; and Vice-President for Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Leonell P. Lijauco.
The presentation was graced by esteemed external evaluators from key government agencies, reinforcing transparency and collaborative governance. Representing the Department of Science and Technology - Tarlac Province were Senior Science Research Specialist, Mr. Emerson M. Jasmin, and Provincial Science and Technology Directorย Karen Y. Daรฑez. The Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office III was likewise represented by Assistant Regional Director Arthur D. Dayrit. Their presence highlighted the strong inter-agency partnerships that continue to propel TAUโs research and extension initiatives to greater heights.
During the presentation proper, the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, through its Director, Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Nardo, articulated the officeโs accomplishments, identified concerns encountered during implementation, and detailed strategic interventions undertaken to meet its targets, demonstrating TAUโs unwavering commitment to gender-responsive governance. The Department of Extension and Training, led by Director Dr. Agnes C. Perey, showcased significant milestones in the delivery of community-based projects and capacity-building training requested by both internal and external stakeholders, reflecting the Universityโs dynamic role in regional development.
In the afternoon session, the Office of Research and Development presented its accomplishments, highlighting innovations, completed studies, and continuing initiatives that advance agricultural and scientific knowledge by Dr. Maria Elena T. Caguioa. The Rootcrops Research and Training Center reported its key achievements through Mr. Carlo Magno L. Sagun, emphasizing impactful research outputs and training engagements that benefit farmers, partner agencies, and the broader community.
The presentation concluded with inspiring closing remarks from the Vice-President for Research, Extension, and Training, Dr. Edmar N. Franquera, who reaffirmed TAUโs commitment to excellence, integrity, and service-driven innovation. The Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Accomplishment Presentation not only reflected the collective achievements of the Universityโs research, extension, and training arms but also strengthened its resolve to continuously deliver responsive, sustainable, and high-impact programs aligned with national and regional development goals.
