Representatives from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Tarlac Chapter pay a courtesy visit to the Office of the University President at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), 4 December, strengthening shared humanitarian goals and serving as a platform to discuss future collaborative efforts in community service and emergency preparedness.

Also, TAU recently received the prestigious Blood Services Platinum Award from the PRC for its five-year commitment to collect over 500 life-saving blood units.

Reinforcing its pivotal role in advancing agricultural and environmental development in the region, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), through its Business and Auxiliary Services (BAS) Office, has pledged its support to a vital environmental initiative by providing 100 tree seedlings to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of the Municipality of Paniqui, Tarlac.ย 

This donation is in response to a formal request to aid the province-wide "SIBOL: Kabataan para sa Komunidad, Kabataan para sa Kalinisan" program. The seedlings will be used in a youth-led tree-planting activity, symbolizing a shared commitment between the University and the local government to promote sustainability and community action.

To establish a formal collaboration, the delegates from the Central Bicol State Agricultural University (CBSUA) attended a pre-meeting discussion at the Office of the University President (OUP) with Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, University President; Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA); and Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, Dean of the College of Education (CEd) on 4 December.

During the meeting, Dr. Salunson shares a brief background on the University's process and how it aligns with the goals of the benchmarking visit. He outlines TAU's key initiatives in student welfare and institutional development, ISO process, internationalization, and TAUโ€™s flagship products.

CBSUA delegates then proceed to the CEd Education and Technology (EdTech) building for the benchmarking proper.

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the Guidance and Counseling Office and Student Welfare Unit (SWU) under the Office of Student Services and Development (OSSD), took a proactive stand by conducting the โ€œRACE Against Suicide: A Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Preventionโ€ at the AgriTourism Function Hall on 4 December.

Select faculty members from the College of Education (CEd), Laboratory School (LS), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and University Nurses attended the seminar that aims to implement the following RACE protocol: Recognizing warning signs of suicide, Assessing suicide risk using the C-SSRS, Convincing the student to get help, and Entrusting to the counselor.

The training proper is led by Dr. Benny S. Soliman, Director of the Student Placement Office (SPO), who presents the core program that focuses on the essential steps of Recognize, Ask, Care, and Escort which serves as a practical framework for intervention.

Six student groups showcase their entrepreneurial spirit through creative, agriculture-inspired ventures.
