In the world of children, life is a series of blank pages waiting for the beautiful but sometimes chaotic collision of crayons and imagination. To the untrained eye, it is just play; to Dr. Jerahmeel R. Aquino, it is the making of an architect, a painter, or a designer.

A proud graduate of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), Dr. Aquino understands that before a child can sculpt a form, they must learn to mold the clay. His own foundation was poured in the classrooms of the College of Education (CEd), where he earned his Bachelor of Elementary Education major in PreSchool Education (BEEd-PSEd) in 2014.ย

Much like learning the ABCs, his journey began with fundamental steps: first as a Grade One teacher at Cleverkids School, Inc. in Villasis, Pangasinan and then transitioned to the public school system as a Kindergarten Teacher at Santo Domingo Elementary School from 2015 to 2020.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) marks another significant breakthrough in research and innovation with the implementation of the DOSTโ€“TECHNiCOM funded project, โ€œMooving-Forward with the Philippine Mastitis Test,โ€ an initiative designed to deliver affordable and accessible solutions to dairy farmers across the country.

With a total project allocation of Php 3,778,174.00, the twelve-month program officially commenced on 23 May 2025 and is set to conclude on 22 May 2026. The project focuses on the development of a cost-efficient mastitis test reagent, providing dairy farmers with a practical and reliable tool for the early detection of mastitis as one of the most prevalent and economically damaging diseases affecting dairy cattle.

Notably, this initiative established the only Mastitis Testing Center in the Philippines, positioning TAU at the forefront of dairy health diagnostics and innovation. Since its implementation, the technology has already gained traction beyond Tarlac, with early adopters from the neighboring province of Pangasinan, reflecting the growing demand for affordable mastitis detection solutions among dairy communities.

The project is spearheaded by Ms. Catherine Diane DG. Robillos, Instructor at the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), with the support of Mr. Ronaldo A. Briones, Project Technical Staff III and CAF faculty member. Together with the research team, they are dedicated to transforming scientific research into farm-ready technologies that directly respond to the pressing needs of dairy farmers, particularly in the region.

Students, faculty, and staff from various colleges gather at multiple venues on 19-22 January for the College-Based Talakayan 2026. Organized by the College Student Councils (CSCs), this yearly assembly creates a crucial space for open communication and straightforward discussion between the student body and College leadership.

Within the sessions, a productive dialogue takes place. The event includes a question-and-answer segment, enabling concerned personnel to respond directly to student inquiries and feedback. This cooperative approach ensures that student perspectives are acknowledged and that the administration provides timely, clear answers to current campus matters, including resource availability, the rollout of new regulations, and academic guidelines.
