A herd of twelve goats, comprising one Boer, one Anglo-Nubian, and ten native breeds, has arrived at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), 5 November, as the centerpiece of a new research initiative funded by the National Livestock Program (NLP).ย

Helmed by the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), the program, led by Dr. Allan Jeffrey E. Francia, Chief of the Animal Breeding and Artificial Insemination (ABAI) Center, aims to rapidly enhance local livestock quality by employing advanced reproductive technologies, such as Multiple Ovulation and Embryo Transfer (MOET).ย

By harvesting and implanting embryos from the high-value donor goats into the native does, the Center can accelerate genetic improvement, potentially leading to more productive animals for local farmers and boosting the sustainability and profitability of the region's goat industry.

Promoting bamboo as a sustainable material for arts and livelihood, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) proved its competence through local craftsmanship and bagged multiple awards during the 2025 Kauayan Arts and Crafts Contest held from 27 to 29 October at the Roof Deck, Tarlac Capitol Center Building, San Roque, Tarlac City.

Initiated by the Provincial Government of Tarlac (PGT) in collaboration with Tarlac Provincial Bamboo Industry Development Council (TPBIDC), and through the management of Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO), the contest not only preserves cultural artistry but also positions bamboo as a modern economic driver for sustainable development.

During the event, bamboo artisans, students, and entrepreneurs from various municipalities in Tarlac and Region III compete in three categories: Food, Non-Food Handcrafted, and Non-Food Industrial. Special awards were also given, such as Governorโ€™s Choice, PCEDOโ€™s Choice, Most Innovative, Excellence in Craftsmanship, Best in Market-Ready Product, Tatak-Tarlac, and Culinary Creativity.
