The spirit of celebration reached new heights on Day 3 of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) Week as the โ€œWhite Eaglesโ€ of Tarlac Agricultural University dazzled the community with a vibrant showcase of talent, creativity, and wit. The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and spirited participation, perfectly capturing the dynamic and united identity of the CVM family.

Taking center stage as the most anticipated highlight of the day was the grand spectacle, โ€œVetMed Royale: Reign of the Animal Kingdom Pageants,โ€ held at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Hall on 19 March 2026. The venue transformed into a majestic arena where candidates embodied elegance and confidence, representing the diverse wonders of the animal kingdom. Cheers echoed throughout the hall as Arron Cariรฑo and Richee Untiveros emerged victorious, earning the coveted titles of King and Queen of the Animal Kingdom.ย

As the sun set, the festivities gracefully transitioned into an enchanting evening during the Socialization Night, themed โ€œOcean Royalty.โ€ The atmosphere shimmered with hues of blue and silver, as students donned sea-inspired attire that brought waves of creativity and flair. The night was filled with lively music, shared laughter, and unforgettable moments, strengthening camaraderie among the White Eagles.ย

Adding to the significance of the evening, Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VP-ASA), graced the event with his presence, expressing steadfast support for the CVM community. His attendance underscored the universityโ€™s commitment to fostering not only academic excellence but also student engagement and holistic development.

Indeed, Day 3 of the CVM Week was a resounding success, an extraordinary blend of talent, unity, and celebration. Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson welcomed farmer-participants from various municipalities of Tarlac and conveyed his strong message of support during the opening of the Training on ItikPINAS: Mallard Duck Production and Enterprise Development for Smallholder Farmers held on March 24โ€“25, 2026 at the TAU- Farmersโ€™ Training Center. Emphasizing the importance of empowering grassroots communities, he underscored the Universityโ€™s commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture through capacity-building initiatives that directly benefit local farmers.

The training, spearheaded by the Department of Extension and Training under the guidance of their Director; Dr. Agnes C. Perey, addressed the pressing challenges faced by smallholder duck raisers, including low productivity and limited technical knowledge. By introducing ItikPINAS, a genetically improved Philippine Mallard duck known for its higher egg production and efficiency, the program equipped participants with essential knowledge on housing systems, proper management practices, feeding, health and nutrition, biosecurity, and egg handling, alongside discussions on the current status of the duck industry and basic enterprise analysis.ย

Complemented by a field visit to actual ItikPINAS farms situated in Tarlac City, Tarlac, and Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija, the training provides hands-on learning opportunities that strengthen participantsโ€™ confidence in adopting the technology.ย

The initiative ultimately reinforced TAUโ€™s role in translating research into community impact enhancing farmersโ€™ productivity, increasing income potential, and fostering sustainable, community-based duck enterprises across Tarlac.

Characterized by vibrant activities and active participation from the White Eagles, the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) soared to greater heights during the 2nd day celebration of CVM Week 2026 on March 18, as students brought their unique talents to life, showcasing creativity, skill, and a shared passion for veterinary medicine.

The day started with an online wake-up call and attendance. This set the tone for a dynamic schedule of activities for the day. One of the highlights of the day was the much-awaited Color Fun Run, during which the University's students showed their enthusiasm and camaraderie by actively participating in the dynamic and exciting activity.

After the Color Fun Run, the awarding of winners highlighted the outstanding performances of participants, both in group and individual categories, as their efforts were recognized and celebrated. The competitive spirit carried on through the VET Olympics, where students of the university demonstrated agility, teamwork, and sportsmanship while actively engaging in a series of exciting and dynamic games.

At the same time, CVMโ€™s service to the community was extended through the CC Spay and Neuter Drive, which was a reflection of the collegeโ€™s commitment to animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. This event demonstrated the practical application of veterinary medicine skills in serving the community.ย

Afternoon activities were filled with more excitement as the VET Olympics continued at the covered court. The participants were still very much involved, embodying the theme of unity and inclusivity in veterinary medicine.ย

In a message of support, University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson commended the CVM community on their active involvement in the event:ย

โ€œThe success of this celebration reflects not only your passion for veterinary medicine but also your commitment to excellence, service, and unity. May this week continue to inspire you to become compassionate and competent professionals who will shape the future of animal health and welfare.โ€

Meanwhile, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) President and a 5th Year DVM student, Ms. Sean Nicole P. Chico, also expressed her appreciation and shared her reflections on the success of the celebration.

โ€œIโ€™m really happy to see how successful VetMed Week 2026 was. The energy and teamwork of the CVM community made it even more meaningful, as we balance academics with advocating for animals. Iโ€™m glad to have joined some activities and see this week maintain such a high standard,โ€ she stated.
