Officials from the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) office participated in the "Friends of Saskatchewan Networking Reception" hosted by the Government of Saskatchewan, Canada, at the Makati Diamond Residences on 24 February 2026, where they joined stakeholders from different universities to discuss strategic collaborations in trade, investment, research, and workforce development.
TAUโs representation through the ELIA Office composed of Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director; Ms. Caroline N. Gabis, Chief for Partnership and Development; and Mr. Jayson J. Elenzano, Chief for Technical Support, helped strengthen TAUโs internationalization efforts by their active participation in this specific event exploring opportunities for potential research project collaborations that address challenges in agriculture, energy, mining, and advanced manufacturing.
The reception is a statement of Saskatchewanโs commitment to building sustainable, innovation-driven partnerships with the Philippines, aligning its shared priorities for economic growth and global competitiveness. Throughout the program, Saskatchewanโs representatives underscored the pivotal role in stabilizing global supply chains through its leadership in agriculture, energy, and mining.
The Office of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) formally initiated a virtual meeting for a potential partnership with the University of Hawai`i West Oโahu held via Zoom on 20 February 2026.
The session commenced with Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), who introduced the TAU participants and shared the Universityโs vision for expanding the global footprint. Following this, Ms. Caroline N. Gabis, Chief for Partnership Development of ELIA, introduced the potential partner to the meeting, setting the stage for a comprehensive presentation by Mr. Gian Otoman, International Program Coordinator, Office of Global Engagement at the University of Hawai`i, West Oโahu. Mr. Otoman introduced UH as an institution and detailed the specific exchange programs, providing a roadmap that both universities can benefit from cross-cultural academic immersion.
Although this potential partnership is currently in the developmental phase, this initiative marks a significant milestone for TAU as it seeks to align itself with international institutions. Establishing a rapport with UH offers TAU an opportunity to enhance its curriculum through global practices and provide its students with invaluable exposure to diverse global academic and cultural environments.
Reaffirming its steadfast commitment to quality and excellence, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson participated in the 2nd Quality Assurance Summit and Conferment Ceremony spearheaded by the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA), Inc. on March 5โ7, 2026, at The Heritage Hotel Manila. He was joined by Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance Dr. Leonell P. Lijauco, demonstrating TAUโs strong leadership presence in this significant national gathering that formally conferred Certificates of Accreditation to State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Colleges and Universities (LCUs) whose programs and institutions were certified from 2022 to 2025.
During the ceremony, TAU was conferred by the NNQAA, Inc., upon the recommendation of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., with several program accreditations. The University received a Level IV Retained Status for the Bachelor of Secondary Education majors in Mathematics and Physical Science under the College of Education (CEd), and likewise retained Level IV Status for the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education majors in Agriculture and Fishery, Home Economics, and Information and Communication Technology under the same college. These achievements also reflect the dedicated efforts of the CEd Dean, Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares.
In addition, several other academic programs of the University were recognized for their sustained commitment to quality and academic excellence. The University earned Level IV Re-accredited Status for the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and the Bachelor of Arts in Economics under the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS); these recognitions are the result of the full support and effort of the entire CAS faculty and staff under the superintendence of CAS Dean, Dr. Sherwin S. Alar.
For the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), with the supervision of CAF Dean, Dr. Sinamar E. Estudillo, the Bachelor of Science in Forestry Resource Management and the Bachelor of Animal Science earned a Level III Re-accredited Status.
Furthermore, the Master of Science in Biosystems Engineering and the Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering under the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), with the stewardship of the CET Dean, Dr. Ruben A. Parazo, were granted Level III Re-accredited Status. These recognitions further strengthen the Universityโs expanding portfolio of accredited programs and reflect its steadfast pursuit of excellence in instruction, research, and professional training.
These recognitions reflect the collective dedication and hard work of the entire TAU community, guided by the leadership of President Salunson. Through sustained collaboration among administrators, faculty, staff, and stakeholders, the University continues to reinforce its quality assurance mechanisms and align its academic programs with national standards, upholding its mission to deliver excellence in instruction, research, extension, and governance in service to the nation.

Bringing home 76 medals (18 Gold, 18 Silver, and 40 Bronze) stands as a vivid reflection of your exemplary discipline, rigorous training, and the unyielding spirit that defines the Carabao.
Every medal tells a story of perseverance; every point earned contributed to this remarkable collective achievement, securing TAUโs place as the 6th runner-up. The Carabaos have once again proven they are a force to be reckoned with.ย
