Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) engaged in a purposeful meeting with Professor Jeffrey Sachs, President of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) at De La Salle University (DLSU), Manila on January 21, 2026.

This collaboration meeting highlighted ELIA’s mission to advance sustainable frameworks to support TAU’s mission to contribute in advancing the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the Philippines and the ASEAN region and its mandate to provide quality education. This was made possible by the collaborative discussion that provided a valuable opportunity to align institutional, national, and regional initiatives with global sustainable development frameworks and strengthen international collaboration.

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s (SDSN) purpose is to mobilize a massive network of universities, research centers, and technical experts to champion the SDGs through evidence-based problem solving. In line with its purpose, SDSN Philippines can help TAU in ensuring that the University’s agricultural perspectives are heard at the highest level of policy discussion.

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) - Office of the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance (OVPPQA) is pleased to announce that the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) Level IV has been retained with validity from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2030, following its recent assessment by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) held on 24-26 September 2025.

The College of Engineering and Technology (CET) BS in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering reflects the program’s excellence and dedication in key areas including research, performance of graduates, community service, international linkages and consortia, and planning process.

With its high score in the criteria assessed by the AACCUP, TAU-CET underscores its commitment to quality education and holistic development of its students.

The TAU community, headed by its University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson and the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance (VP-PQA) and former Dean of CET, Dr. Leonell P. Lijauco, commend the faculty, staff, and students of CET who made this possible.

Mr. Julius S. Baltazar from the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) successfully concluded the Fall 2025 semester at Centennial College in Toronto, Canada through the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchange for Development (SEED) from 2 September to 20 December 2025.

Through this program, Mr. Baltazar gained specialized expertise in Nutritional Science, Principles of Sanitation, Safety, and Hygiene, as well as Marketing and Merchandising Operations. The knowledge he acquired at this Canadian educational institution will be useful in terms of expanding his learning in nutritional sciences and safety standards as he is currently finishing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at TAU.

Furthermore, this exchange is a testament to TAU’s commitment to proving that quality education knows no borders in preparing its students to lead both locally and globally.
