Representatives from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Tarlac Chapter pay a courtesy visit to the Office of the University President at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), 4 December, strengthening shared humanitarian goals and serving as a platform to discuss future collaborative efforts in community service and emergency preparedness.

Also, TAU recently received the prestigious Blood Services Platinum Award from the PRC for its five-year commitment to collect over 500 life-saving blood units.

Reinforcing its pivotal role in advancing agricultural and environmental development in the region, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), through its Business and Auxiliary Services (BAS) Office, has pledged its support to a vital environmental initiative by providing 100 tree seedlings to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of the Municipality of Paniqui, Tarlac. 

This donation is in response to a formal request to aid the province-wide "SIBOL: Kabataan para sa Komunidad, Kabataan para sa Kalinisan" program. The seedlings will be used in a youth-led tree-planting activity, symbolizing a shared commitment between the University and the local government to promote sustainability and community action.

In a historic first for the institution, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) Gender and Development (GAD) Office convened the inaugural General Assembly of its MOVE (Men Opposed to Violence Against Women Everywhere) KATROPA (KAlalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya) organization at the Continuing Education Center on 4 December.

The landmark gathering formally affirmed the University’s commitment to mobilizing men as proactive partners in advancing gender equality, preventing violence, and upholding shared family responsibilities. It marked a significant evolution in TAU’s holistic approach to gender advocacy. While traditional initiatives had largely focused on empowering women and LGBTQIA+ members, this assembly signaled a strategic shift toward engaging men directly, not only as allies but as empowered leaders within their respective homes, workplaces, and communities.

GAD Director Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Nardo set the tone with her opening message, underscoring the program’s pivotal role in cultivating a safer and more inclusive campus environment. This was later reinforced by TAU President Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, who shared personal insights and practical advice with the male workforce.

A research paper authored by Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) students achieved a rare distinction at an international academic conference, standing out not only for its methodology but also for the academic level of its authors.

The study, titled “English Language Anxiety Among BEED Students: Basis for an Intervention Plan,” was presented at the joint 1st International Conference on Graduate Research in Teacher Education (IC-GRaTE 2025) and the 3rd International Graduate Teacher Education Summit (IGTES), held at Palawan State University (PSU) in Puerto Princesa City, 19-21 November

Notably, the paper was the only undergraduate research accepted for presentation in a conference otherwise dominated by graduate studies. Beyond mere acceptance, the paper excelled in the competition. It was ranked 5th overall among 70 submitted and reviewed research manuscripts and was subsequently honored with a Best Paper Award.
