The spirit of camaraderie, culture, and academic excellence filled the campus of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) as the 22nd National Congress of Veterinary Medicine Students (NCVMS) marked its second day on February 4, 2026, with a vibrant lineup of activities that showcased the heart and soul of the University.

The day officially kicked off with a University Tour around the scenic TAU campus, where delegates from various veterinary schools across the Philippines were warmly accompanied and assisted by the enthusiastic Tourism Students of the College of Business Management. Serving as student-guides and ambassadors, the Tourism students ensured that participants experienced not only the physical landmarks of the University, but also its rich history, culture, and commitment to academic excellence.

A warm and festive welcome awaited the delegates as the entire TAU community came together to greet them through captivating performances by the TAU Performing Guild and the TAU Chorale. The cultural presentations highlighted Filipino artistry and creativity, setting an uplifting tone for the rest of the day and reinforcing TAU’s reputation as a university that nurtures both intellect and talent.

Strengthening bonds among future veterinarians, a Solidarity Lunch was held at the TAU Continuing Education Center, where delegates, organizers, and faculty members shared not only meals but also meaningful conversations and experiences. The gathering reflected the unity and fellowship that the NCVMS continues to promote among veterinary medicine students nationwide.

𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐑 | 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥

In the dim light of the Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) gymnasium, long after practice has ended, the silence is broken by a solitary rhythm. Not of a ball dribbling or a player’s footsteps. It is the heartbeat of Timmy Vallero Ortiz.

As the Regional SCUAA Games approach, Ortiz isn’t just a player running drills; he is a floor general chalking up a master plan. His game, defined by ankle-breaking feints and passes threaded like needles, is a Facebook reel in the making. Remarkably, this command performance began with a late tip-off at age 13. It wasn't the early start of a typical sports prodigy, but a sprint to catch up, pursued with a deliberate, accelerated intensity.

Ortiz approaches the court with a playmaker’s radar, spotting the open man before the defense even shifts. This unique technique is the product of a versatile playbook. Before committing fully to the paint, he sharpened his reflexes through the swift rallies of badminton and the rapid-fire precision of table tennis. These weren't just side games; they were warm-up drills that taught him to pivot on a dime and control the chaos, skills he now uses to dictate the flow of the game.

Modeling his play after LeBron James, Ortiz does not seek only personal glory. "He shows discipline... on and off the court," Ortiz notes. This mindset has paid off in the trenches of high school and semi-pro leagues.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the initiative of the Student Placement Office (SPO) led by its Director Dr. Benny S. Soliman, in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Tarlac City, brings passport services closer through the “Passport on Wheels” program, on 3 February, at the Bamboo Training Center (BTC).

The activity caters exclusively to TAU employees and students, offering 50 slots for passport applications and renewals from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 

This activity aims to bring essential government services closer to the university community, saving participants time and travel expenses.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | 𝐙𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐂𝐀𝐒

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) officially begins CAS Week 2026 on 30 January with "CASZumbayanihang PUNO ng CASiyahan." The event draws a large crowd of University officials, faculty, retirees, students, and alumni who share energy on the dance floor.

Also, Zumba teams from Santa Ignacia, Camiling, and Mangatarem add to the celebration, highlighting a strong spirit of teamwork and community support. The successful opening sets a high standard for the week, driven by the collective effort of everyone joining the dance for a healthier and more connected CAS.

The floor becomes a display of talent and confidence as participants receive recognition for their performances. Ronald Doctor and Denielle Estraña are named Zumba King and Queen, while Tessie Dreher wins the Best Zumba Style Icon award. Other highlights include the "Ageless Energy" of Robecca Cerizo and Virginia Dela Cruz, and the "Curves with Confidence" shown by Gemma Niño. Emphasizing wellness and gratitude alongside the awards, top attire honors go to Maria Venessa "Venice" Baral, Dr. Maita Lopez, and Dennis Tomas Sabado, marking the event as a celebration of both style and spirit.
