Promoting bamboo as a sustainable material for arts and livelihood, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) proved its competence through local craftsmanship and bagged multiple awards during the 2025 Kauayan Arts and Crafts Contest held from 27 to 29 October at the Roof Deck, Tarlac Capitol Center Building, San Roque, Tarlac City.
Initiated by the Provincial Government of Tarlac (PGT) in collaboration with Tarlac Provincial Bamboo Industry Development Council (TPBIDC), and through the management of Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO), the contest not only preserves cultural artistry but also positions bamboo as a modern economic driver for sustainable development.
During the event, bamboo artisans, students, and entrepreneurs from various municipalities in Tarlac and Region III compete in three categories: Food, Non-Food Handcrafted, and Non-Food Industrial. Special awards were also given, such as Governorโs Choice, PCEDOโs Choice, Most Innovative, Excellence in Craftsmanship, Best in Market-Ready Product, Tatak-Tarlac, and Culinary Creativity.
