The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) as a leading force in the higher education landscape, conferring on the institution a major accolade at the 2025 IZN Champions of Nation-building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on 10 December.
Representing the University, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson accepted the honor, which places TAU among the country's most esteemed institutions recognized for transformative impact. "On behalf of the entire TAU community, we are profoundly honored and elated," Dr. Salunson stated. He emphasized that the distinction serves as a "resounding testament to our collective efforts in upholding inclusive internationalization, academic excellence, innovative research, and unceasing commitment to nation-building through quality service."
In his remarks sent to the Information Unit, Dr. Salunson extended his deepest gratitude to the CHED, particularly to Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis and to the International Affairs and Services (IAS) Director, Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla. He noted that the acknowledgment powerfully validates TAUโs mission and energizes its community to pursue greater heights. Addressing the University's administrators, faculty, staff,ย students, alumni, and partners, he declared, โthis achievement is yours,โ expressing his hope that TAU would continue to shine as a beacon of impactful higher education.
