Driven to represent Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) on the international stage, students earned awards at the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Hybrid Mobility by Discipline (HMD): Language and Culture Program, themed โPreserving ASEAN Cultural Heritage with AIโHuman Co-Creation,โ held online from 29 August to21 October 2025.
Thirteen (13) TAU students joined the virtual program. The Batirulians team, composed of Jhemalyn P. Villar, Arianna Foo Lee Naa, Kristine Joy C. Magno, Hanna Claire O. Cero, Karla Shane S. Esguerra, Nica Kathryn P. Mawirat, and Alyssa Mae E. Bautistaโsecured the 3rd Prize in the promotional video and poster competition.
Marking the start of a four-day gathering anchored on the theme โAdvancing Interdisciplinary Research for Sustainable and Inclusive Development,โ the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) led by the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) formally opened the International Interdisciplinary Research and Development Conference in Social Science (IIRDCSS) on 25 November at the TAU Alumni and Student Center Amphitheater.ย
Gracing the opening ceremony are key university officials led by Dr. Edmar N. Franquera, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training (VPRET); Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA); and Ms. Yolanda F. Juan, Chief Administrative Officer for Administration (CAO-Admin), who collectively emphasized the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration in shaping sustainable solutions for todayโs complex social issues. In their messages, the officials highlight TAUโs commitment to fostering research-driven dialogues and strengthening partnerships that cut across sectors, disciplines, and borders.
Upholding their support for the Universityโs internationalization initiatives, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) students are participating in the virtual Global Dialogue Series of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), a long-term online international learning program running from September to November 2025 via Zoom.
Fifty-nine (59) TAU students are taking part in the program: fifteen (15) from the College of Veterinary Medicine, eleven (11) from the College of Education, ten (10) from the College of Arts and Sciences, eight (8) from the College of Agriculture and Forestry, eight (8) from the College of Business and Management, and seven (7) from the College of Engineering and Technology.
HKBU features one Global Dialogue Series topic per week covering themes such as fast fashion, sustainable consumption, climate change and the environment, global labor and employment, racial equality, and marginalization in education.
This yearโs Global Dialogue series of HKBU is joined by students from the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States.
Becoming a consistent advocacy of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) - National Service Training Program (NSTP) through its Civic Welfare and Training Service (CWTS) and Literacy Training Service (LTS) units, the Waste Warriors once again lead the campus-wide waste management effort during the 2025 Intramurals from 19-21 November.
The initiative, led by CWTS Coordinator Mr. Rafael C. Macaspac and LTS Coordinator Ms. Dancel M. Cabintoy, mobilizes their students to serve as โWaste Warriorsโ who help maintain cleanliness, oversee waste segregation, and encourage their peers to dispose of waste properly.
Now in its second year, the โWaste Warriorsโ program has become a consistent advocacy activity during TAUโs Intramurals. This yearโs volunteers continue the campaignโs mission to foster responsible waste management and strengthen environmental awareness among the TAU community. Many students express pride in being part of a movement that promotes sustainability and contributes to a cleaner campus.
The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) community unites in patriotism during the weekly simultaneous flag-raising ceremony that takes place in various areas of the University on 24 November.
Spearheaded by the Records Management Unit (RMU) under the leadership of Ms. Zenaida C. Sahagun, faculty members and students from the College of Business and Management (CBM), together with non-teaching personnel from the Administration Building and the IT Data Center, gather in front of the Library Resource Center (LRC) for the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the six colleges of the university hold their respective flag hoisting ceremonies, ensuring that the entire TAU community collectively honors the Philippine flag in solidarity and synchrony.
Back at the LRC, the Director of Gender and Development (GAD) Office, Dr. Ma Theresa B. Nardo announces the opening of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and invites the TAU community to participate in the activities aligned with the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. Dr. Nardo also leads the inauguration of the Rainbow Lane after the ceremony.
In addition, the Chief Administrative Officer for Administration (CAO-Admin), Ms. Yolanda F. Juan, recognizes the efforts of the GAD Office in championing gender-responsive initiatives across the University. She also announces that TAUโs Founding Anniversary celebration is set on 15-19 December and also reminds everyone to observe discipline and strictly follow the Universityโs traffic rules and regulations. Additionally, she acknowledges the presence of the University President and Vice Presidents who, although not physically present, are currently attending various external events to represent TAU.
