The firm support for its community led the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) to empower its faculty members and non-academic staff through the Global Knowledge Exchange Series (GKES) Session 3 themed โ€œEnhancing Employee Performance: Utilizing Employees to the Fullestโ€, held virtually via Zoom on 11 April. This session was a collaborative undertaking between the TAU - External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) and Human Resource Management Office (HRMO).

GKES Session 3 featured Dr. Vivek Vinayakrao Wankhede, Chief Human Resource Officer and Assistant Professor at Sanjivani University, India who served as the resource speaker during the event.

Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), officially welcomed Dr. Wankhede and all participants. He also reiterated the importance of engaging in such events to enhance employeesโ€™ skills and competencies in the workplace.

โ€œOur employees whose talents, dedication and potential; fuel the everyday operations and long-time goals of the University. Todayโ€™s knowledge exchange is not merely a presentation, it is an invitation for reflection, action and innovation. It calls us to view performance enhancement not just as a metric to be achieved but asย  a culture to be cultivated. One where employees are valued, empowered and enabled to thrive in the roles,โ€ Dr. Lorenzo expressed.

On the other hand, Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, TAU President, emphasized that this pivotal event reflects the shared internationalization (IZN) efforts between TAU and Sanjivani University. He also acknowledged TAU employeesโ€™ contributions for making the University a globally recognized higher education institution (HEI) in the Philippines and across the world.

โ€œAt the core of everyoneโ€™s successful institution is a team of dedicated, empowered and well-supported individuals. It is to ensure that our human resources are not only competent but also part of our values. This result is more than just a gift. Itโ€™s an opportunity to exchange insights, strategies, and best practices on how we can elevate performance and harness potential environments where everyone thrives," Dr. Salunson highlighted.

To formally commence the learning session, Dr. Benny S. Soliman, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), introduced Dr. Wankhede, highlighting his extensive academic background in terms of management corporate training and strategic consultancy, highlighting his expertise as both an academician and an administrator.

With expertise in leading organizations, Dr. Wankhede discussed how employees enhance their performance by identifying the five cost-effective human resources strategies to foster Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) such as culture of fairness and inclusion, supportive leadership, recognition, and opportunities to contribute as well as hiring and training for citizenship.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Yolanda F. Juan, Chief Administrative Officer for Administration conveyed her warm appreciation to everyone who joined the event. She also recognized each employeesโ€™ hard work and dedication in contributing to TAU's success in various fields.

Pledging to provide a high quality workplace for TAU employees, โ€œwe, in the administration, commit to provide you opportunities for professional growth and development, and in making TAU a vibrant and enjoyable place to work,โ€ Ms. Juan conveyed.
