In a strategic move to modernize property assessment and land administration, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), in partnership with the Tarlac Provincial Assessorโ€™s Office, launches a comprehensive training program titled "Building Geospatial Competence among Assessors for Data-Driven Land Governance" from 24 to 28 November at the Tarlac Provincial Capitol.

Equipping thirty provincial and municipal assessors with essential Geographic Information System (GIS) skills, this initiative directly supports the province's new GIS-Based Tax Mapping project, aiming to enhance the accuracy, uniformity, and transparency of land valuation and tax mapping across all seventeen municipalities. The training, spearheaded by the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) through its Department of Geodetic Engineering (GE), features a robust curriculum of lectures and hands-on exercises. Participants learn core GIS concepts, from data collection and georeferencing to spatial analysis and project development, using open-source QGIS software.ย

The activity underscores TAUโ€™s commitment to extension and innovation, translating academic expertise into tangible solutions for good governance, sustainable land use, and improved public service within the province.

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) students actively participate in the Gender-Responsive Training for Fire Incident/Emergency on 29 November at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center.

The third batch engages in a series of discussions that are designed to enhance their readiness in emergency situations, followed by a hands-on training at the TAU Oval, where the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel once again guide them through live demonstrations on the correct use of fire extinguishers, evacuation strategies, and coordinated emergency response techniques.

Through this continuous, gender-inclusive initiative, TAU reaffirms its commitment to equipping its students with the skills and confidence necessary to act swiftly and responsibly during emergencies. The university ensures that each batch receives the same level of comprehensive training, reinforcing a culture of preparedness and collective responsibility across the TAU community.

Today, 1 December, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) community gathered in front of the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center for the monthly flag-raising ceremony, uniting the entire workforce to formally welcome the new month with shared purpose and renewed commitment.

Led by the College of Business and Management (CBM), under the leadership of its Dean, Dr. Erlie SD. Totaan, the assembly opened with the singing of patriotic hymns and the recitation of pledges.

The Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) then recognized the December birthday celebrators, followed by a communal prayer.

Representing Sociocultural Development Office (SDO) Director Prof. Cecile L. Lapitan, SDO Assistant Director Engr. Donna Fay Labrador proudly announced the recent international feat of the TAU Choral, which brought home honors from the 2025 Choral Festival and Competition in Busan, South Korea.

She also highlighted another cultural milestoneโ€”the TAU Belenismo entry, themed โ€œBiyahe TAUโ€, which placed Top 3among 52 entries across five categories in this yearโ€™s province-wide Belenismo celebration. Engr. Labrador likewise acknowledged the winners of the Culture and the Arts Association of State Universities and Colleges (CAASUC) 2025 competitions.

Both the TAU Choral and TAU Belenismo core groups expressed their gratitude to the TAU Administration led by Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, as well as to all individuals who supported their artistic journeys.

In front of the new College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) Building, second-year Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF) students are actively showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit as part of the culminating activity for The Entrepreneurial Mind course. Guided by their instructor, Mr. Julius Rae R. Allam, the students are presenting a diverse array of innovative and sustainable products crafted primarily from bamboo and coconut.

This hands-on event provides a platform for the future foresters to demonstrate the commercial potential of non-timber forest products. By transforming these natural materials into viable goods, they are not only applying their academic lessons but also reinforcing the critical principles of responsible resource utilization and sustainable enterprise.
