The AppliedHE 2026 Ranking for Asian Public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) has been released, showcasing a significant turning point for Philippine education as 21 of its public colleges and universities secured spots on the prestigious list. One of the standout stories from the national cohort is the inaugural entry of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), which successfully claimed its position in the competitive regional landscape.

Marking its first appearance, TAU debuted at 246th place in the Asian ranking and secured the 18th position nationally. This achievement places the University among a distinguished group of 259 public HEIs from across the continent that were evaluated this year. Its successful inclusion highlights the growing reach of the ranking’s assessment and signals TAU's commitment to meeting international benchmarking standards.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) demonstrated an impressive trajectory of growth at the recently concluded Regional Culture and the Arts Festival (RCAF) 2025 hosted by the Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) on 22-26 November. 

The University journey saw it climb from 11th runner-up with just 10 points in 2023 to 8th runner-up with 36 points this year, a remarkable 260-percent increase that represents significant progress in TAU’s year-on-year performance.

While maintaining 36 points from the previous year, TAU advanced from 9th runner-up in 2024 to 8th runner-up in 2025, showcasing that strategic improvements can yield meaningful results even with stable point totals.

Various Intramural champions are recognized at the Awarding Ceremony, where standout athletes and teams in Arnis, Chess, Athletics, Basketball Boys and Girls, Soccer, MLBB, Volleyball Girls, Slo-Pitch Softball, and Sepak Takraw showcase the pinnacle of skill and sportsmanship. Their victories celebrate the diverse athletic talents that have defined this year’s competition.

While the ceremony honors the winners of individual and group events, the highly anticipated announcement of the overall champions will take place this coming Monday during the University flag-raising ceremony. The entire campus awaits to see the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) claim the top spot, followed by the College of Business and Management (CBM) in 2nd Place, the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) in 3rd, the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) in 4th, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) in 5th, and the College of Education in 6th Place.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson formally meets with the newly-appointed Commission on Higher Education Regional Office (CHEdRO) III Director IV Dr. Maura Consolacion D. Cristobal, CESO III, today, in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

During the meeting, Dr. Salunson underscores bamboo crafts as one of TAU’s flagship products, reflecting the University’s commitment to promoting sustainable and innovative community-based initiatives. Both leaders also discuss TAU’s ongoing programs, highlighting efforts that create more opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and partner communities.
