CAPTURED IN LENS | Sine-Sulong 2025

The campus of Tarlac Agricultural University came alive once again as the Sine-Sulong Advocacy Documentary Screening opened its doors to thousands of TAUians eager to witness stories that champion development, humanity, and hope. Recognized as the biggest SDG-themed and socially relevant documentary showcase in TAU, this yearโ€™s event marked a milestone in community-centered storytelling.

The opening program set a warm and inspiring tone. Dr. Sherwin S. Alar welcomed the crowd with heartfelt opening remarks, emphasizing how Sine-Sulong has grown into more than a film event. To him, it is a movement that continues to deepen TAUโ€™s commitment to advocacy-driven communication.

A meaningful message followed from DevCom faculty and Chief of the TAU Information Unit, Nelmar A. Mallari, who proudly commended both the production and promotions teams. He shared how each yearโ€™s documentaries continue to improve in craft and clarity, reflecting the growing maturity of student storytellers who dare to tell narratives that matter.

The event became even more special with the presence of the Department of Agrarian Reform. Ms. Garland Leila A. Cuarteros, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II, extended her warm congratulations to TAU for its recent victory in PelikulAgraryo. She was joined by DAR officials Mr. Gerald A. Fontanoza and Mr. Gabriel A. Sabinorio, who also witnessed how the university nurtures advocacy through film.

Cheers and congratulations to The Tillers, the Official Student Publication of the Tarlac Agricultural University - Laboratory School (TAU-LS), for achieving the Overall 1st Runner-Up title at the Municipal Schools Press Conference (MSPC)!ย  Your stellar performance at the event, held on 6-7 November at Marawi National High School, is a true testament to your team's hard work, talent, and commitment to advancing the craft of campus journalism.

Such an outstanding accomplishment has made the entire TAU community incredibly proud. You have not only raised the bar for student publications but have also proven that powerful storytelling and diligent reporting make a profound impact in the community and beyond. We cannot wait to see what you achieve next in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).
