𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | University officials and personnel participate in a comprehensive orientation at the AgriTourism Hostel Function Hall on 19 August, focusing on the critical steps for FY 2026 procurement planning and budget preparation. The session delivers essential training on the development of the Work and Financial Plan (WFP) and Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP), ensuring that all acquisitions are strategically aligned with TAU’s priorities and financial allotments.

Mr. Eduardo D. Cabrera II, Chief of the Procurement Management Unit, leads the discussion on the standard procurement process and its practical application. At the same time, Mr. Dante A. Revamonte, Chief Administrative Officer for Financial Services, presents an important update on the implications of the new procurement law, ensuring that all planning activities comply with the latest legal frameworks and regulatory standards.

CAPTURED IN LENS | The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) holds its flag-raising ceremony in front of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) on 26 August, with the Budgeting Unit serving as host. Parallel ceremonies also take place in different areas of the University to signify the resumption of work after the long weekend.

In his message, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson underscores the importance of returning with renewed spirit and dedication to public service. He further urges the University community to observe austerity measures as a defining step toward maintaining responsible and sustainable operations.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Researchers from the Rice Chemistry and Food Science Division (RCFSD) of the Department of Agriculture - Philippine Rice Research Institute (DA-PhilRice) pay a courtesy visit to Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, University President of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), at the TAU President’s Office on 20 August.

The activity serves as the researchers’ initial engagement with the University to discuss potential collaboration on the market research of Germinated Brown Rice (GBR), a form of brown rice commonly produced through germination.

To advance the development of GBR-based food products, the RCFSD, with the assistance of Ms. Maricar C. Estrada, a faculty member of the TAU Department of Food Science and Technology and a former PhilRice researcher, aims to strengthen its study through a market assessment that will determine the potential growth in GBR consumption.
