With the assistance of Mr. Raffy A. Santos, Department Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), and Dr. Amy Lizbeth J. Rico, General Manager of SMART Agriculture Center, Dr. Salunson attends the ceremony to discuss the collaboration of both parties geared towards the development of research and academic opportunities and establishment of agricultural advancement opportunities with Zennor Hydroponics Farm.
Zennor Hydroponics Farm began its journey under the ownership of former journalist Mr. Rafael L. Pagaling, who initially experimented with planting in scrap materials like used containers, tires, and other reusable items. Before becoming a designated learning site for agriculture, the farm transitioned to hydroponics farming through Mr. Pagalingβs dedicated research. Today, it has been awarded by the Philippine Good Agricultural Practices Program (PHILGAP) for being the first accredited hydroponics farm in the Philippines, recognized by the Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), and supported for its innovative farming techniques.
Beyond cultivating vegetables, Zennor Hydroponics Farm actively promotes farm-to-table products made from its fresh harvests. During a farm tour, TAU officials sampled innovative lettuce-based chicharon and observed firsthand the farmβs sustainable agricultural methods.
