𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | To promote cross-cultural understanding gender inclusivity, the Office of the Student Services and Development (OSSD) - Student Inclusion Unit, the Office of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), and the Gender and Development Office (GAD), collaborate in conducting β€œPANAGDUDUMA: A Celebration of Cultural Diversity at Tarlac Agricultural University."
Β
Said celebration that features exhibits such as Diwali Booth, Indian Cuisine, IP cultural games, open mic, and BBqueer also gathers faculty and students at the TAU Lagoon, 29 November.
Β
In partnership with the TAU student organizations: TAU Bulalayaw and Buklod Lahi, the event showcases various activities like Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) testing, free condoms and sex hygiene kits, and setting up of stalls like β€œDiwali Booth,” also known as β€œDeepavali,” a Sanskrit word that celebrates the festival of lights commonly observed in India and Southeast Asia. The event also honors the TAU Indian students who promoted their rich cultural culinary heritage and Indigenous Peoples who showcased traditional games.
Β
An open mic is also a part of the festival to provide a platform for TAU transgender students and BBqueer to express their perspectives. A performance of cultural dance and music concludes the celebration.
