The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) and Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Tarlac Chapter participated in the National Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Day Celebration at the TAU Continuing Education Center (CEC) building, 17 July.

Part of the hybrid session is a PRC-led live seminar and workshop via Zoom video conference which drew national officials of PRC and enshrined the theme: β€œA CPR Ready Philippine: Where Knowledge and Skills Save Lives.” Present in the video conference were Mr. Richard J. Gordon, Chairman and CEO of PRC, and Ms. Gwendolyn Pang, Secretary General of the PRC.

Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Office Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) and Dr. Joven D. Valdez, Director of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), welcomed the PRC delegation led by Ms. Jennylyn G. Miclat, PRC Tarlac Chapter OIC Administrator. During his inspirational remarks, Dr. Torres stressed the significant role of the PRC in sharing valuable knowledge that the faculty, non-teaching staff, and students can gain during the seminar.

Serving as a training ground for the youth to build a sense of leadership and prosperity in accordance with general health perspectives, the seminar also prioritized the specific role of young people in promoting community health solidarity and rendering services to humanity which is evident in the CPR lectures, techniques, and drills headed by CSR SS Jenny G. Tadena.

With the help of Gender and Development Office (GAD), Office of Student Services Development (OSSD), and National Service Training Program (NSTP), TAU’s National CPR Day celebration fostered real appreciation for the value of life and wellness.
