The Quality Assurance (QA) Office of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), led by its Director, Dr. Jerome D. Soriano, spearheaded a five-day training on Documenting and Establishing ISO 9001:2015 Quality Objectives, at the 456 Hotel, Baguio City, from 25-29 November.
Β
Working towards providing clear targets in the Quality Management System (QMS), TAU-QA gathered the administration officials, QMS internal auditors, document unit heads, and secretariats in a seminar-workshop titled β€œDocumenting and Establishing ISO 9001:2015 using Process Approach.” The seminar included quality objectives, corresponding monitoring and measurement tools, risk identification, evaluation, and effective records control.
Β
In his message, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, extended his sincerest gratitude to Ms. Cynthia Ramirez, for accommodating TAU to be the resource speaker, and the unrelenting support of the QA Office for organizing the seminar.
Β
β€œBy integrating measurable outcomes into the ISO 9001:2015 objectives, the Tarlac Agricultural University can monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and uphold well-defined strategies. Risk assessment and identification are equally crucial steps in this process. A strong risk management plan enables us to anticipate possible problems and successfully carry out preventive actions,” he added.
Β
The seminar-workshop aimed to align strategic goals, high-quality standards, and transparency to its stakeholders. Dr. Salunson also emphasized during his speech that the event surmounts mere compliance with ISO standards. "Establishing quality objectives is a strategic initiative aimed at consistently meeting stakeholder needs. By integrating measurable outcomes, TAU can monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and uphold well-defined strategies," he shared.
Β
This strategic move is focused in equipping the participants with the practical skills and knowledge in monitoring and measuring the quality system to manage and identify risks in maintaining high-quality standards. This allows the University to assess potential risks to take anticipatory measures in possible challenges and continual improvement.
