Endorsing the Tarlac Agricultural Universityโs (TAU) development blueprint for 2025 to 2035, the TAU Board of Regents (BOR) approved the strategy framework proposed by the administration of Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson during the 35th Regular BOR Meeting at the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), 28 February.
Enshrined in the Board Resolution No. 22, s. 2025, the unanimous concurrence of TAU BOR led by CHEd Commissioner Dr. Desiderio R. Apag Jr. upholds its support to the newly crafted policy roadmap developed in collaboration with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).
The new strategic plan outlines a decade-long implementation guide governing TAU officials and stakeholders. TAUโs vision now focuses on cultivating highly-skilled graduates. It emphasizes the role of applied research and community-focused initiatives in addressing real-world challenges while integrating technology-driven operations to enhance transparency and efficiency.

Aligned with its overarching prospect, TAUโs mission is to become a globally recognized leader in smart agriculture by embedding advanced technologies into its programs and fostering international partnerships.

Also, a new set of core values captured in the acronym RAISEโResilience, Agility, Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellenceโwill serve as the guiding principles to shape a dynamic and forward-thinking academic environment.
Expected to be championed by the four vice presidents, the strategic goals stressed the value of elevating the Universityโs reputation, broadening stakeholder engagement, and fostering a transformative academic and research ecosystem through a futures-oriented curriculum, innovative teaching, and holistic student support.
To align with Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028 and Ambisyon 2040, the 14-point objectives also seek to advance community resilience, societal well-being, and a sustainable eco-campus under green and smart designs. A need for rigorous quality assurance, governance, and resource management to boost transparency, adaptability, and funding was also introduced to connect its goals with national aspirations.
Meanwhile, a statement in the preamble penned by Dr. Salunson underscored TAUโs commitment to building โa futures-ready University that fosters inclusive growth, spurs sustainable development, and cultivates global leaders.โ
โThese ideals will propel TAU to spark ripples of change, shaping a future where every community, big or small, near or far, and thriving or striving, bears the mark of its enduring impact,โ Dr. Salunson wrote.
