To evaluate the contributions and assess future goals of its corporate stakeholders, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) conducted an evaluation of the private sector representatives through a public forum at the Student and Alumni Center Amphitheater which was streamed via Facebook Live, 17 March.
Followed by the appraisal of documents and panel interview, the forum is one of the determining factors whether the appointment of the two private sector representatives will end on 29 June or will be extended for another two-year term.
TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson welcomed the officials, staff, students, and stakeholders during his opening remarks and signified the importance of a private sector representativeโs role in crafting policies and initiating partnership developments that supports the initiatives of the University.
The activity then proceeded with the introduction of the evaluation committee introduced by the University Board Secretary Mr. Sonny A. Santos followed by the presentation of criteria and guidelines by the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo.
Subsequent to the special performance of TAUโs internationally recognized chorale, Hon. Virgin Mary A. Nicolas continued with her presentation of accomplishments during her years of service as a member of TAU Board of Regents (BOR). The Private Sector Representative presented various training programs she helped to facilitate on-the-job training programs and partnership agreements that focused on the conservation of TAUโs Forest Reserve in Sitio Calao, Brgy. San Jose, Mayantoc.
Aside from being a member of TAU-BOR, the Representative is also the Vice President for External Affairs in the Philippine Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Tarlac, and the owner of Premiere Powerline Products and Builders Corp.
Another presentation was also delivered by Hon. Huanito R. Ho, Chairman of PCCI-Tarlac, Chief Executive Officer of Brookside Group of Companies, and a member of TAU-BOR.
In a summary of achievements he made during his term as a private sector representative, Mr. Ho proudly shared his milestones with TAU and gave an overview on his plans to continue the possible collaboration between the University and Taiwan-based companies that are focused on agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial development collaborations.
The forum also included a question and answer portion where the two representatives shared their insights when they were asked on the initiatives that they are willing to propose to provide more internship, job placement, and professional growth opportunities for students and alumni of TAU in terms of mentorships and networking.
The deliberation of results from the feedback of the evaluating committee will be submitted to the members of the board and will be released soon.
