TAU inks support to innovation during THRIVE Central Luzon website launch

To engage in strategic dialogue and collaborate with institutional partners, TAU inked support to the Region 3 Regional Inclusive Innovation Centers (RIIC-3) initiatives during the THRIVE Central Luzon website launch held last June 29 via Zoom and Facebook Live.

The Technological Hive of Regional Innovation for a Vibrant Ecosystem (THRIVE) Central Luzon was established as the unified innovation program of the RIIC-3 to promote the commercialization of market-oriented research and the development of outputs that lead to the increased sustainability and competitiveness of the regional communities and industries.

The website launch was graced by the USAID Office of Education Director Thomas LeBlanc, DOST Undersecretary for R&D Rowena Guevara, and DTI Regional Operations Group Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona.

One of the event’s main highlights was the virtual MOA signing of the university presidents who expressed their commitment in the RIIC-3 initiative. Led by the Bulacan State University and Central Access Point, the Tarlac Agricultural University and other public and private universities in the region formalized their intent to collaborate, innovate, and market the research-based technologies and development projects that would provide more opportunities for the local beneficiaries and industries in the region.

Branded as the platform for innovation and resource collaboration, the THRIVE Central Luzon website shall serve as venue for innovation actors like the academic sector and the government institutions to convene and align their programs and services towards the industry needs.  (RCalpito, PDO)
