TAU officials meet Chinese partners in 2017 ‘Study in Guangxi’ Education Exhibit

Another partnership endeavor by the Tarlac Agricultural University has been officially sealed as Dr. Max P. Guillermo, TAU President, signed the Memorandum of Agreement with the Guilin Tourism University (GTU) of China represented by Dr. Li Chunhong, Director for International Exchange Center of GTU during the Opening Program of the 2017 “Study in Guangxi” Education Exhibit at the Ateneo de Manila University on April 21, 2017.

With this, TAU and GTU shall implement exchange and cooperation on areas including any academic program offered by both higher education institutions. This cooperation shall be carried out through but not limited to: exchange of faculty and staff, exchange of students, co-sponsorship of seminars/academic meetings as well as arts and cultural activities, joint research activities and publications, and exchange of academic materials and other information.

Meanwhile, TAU’s delegation in the Education Exhibit where the MOU signing has been a highlight, consisted of Dr. Ernesto A. Viray, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Guillermo S. Rillon, Jr., Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Nardo, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Restituta B. Paragas, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Forestry; Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Lordy R. Pagatpatan, Asst. Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine; Mr. Harold DC. Pilot, faculty of the College of Business and Management; and Ms. Sheila R. Lingaya, Assistant Director for External Linkages and International Affairs.

The 2017 ‘Study in Guangxi’ Education Exhibit was attended by 25 universities and colleges from Guangxi, led by Mr. Man Changxue, Deputy Director-General of Guangxi Education Department. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region South China is home to 10,200 elementary schools, 1,812 junior high schools, 450 senior high schools, 370 vocational colleges and 77 colleges and universities.

During the exhibit, TAU’s delegation was also able to explore partnership development with the different Chinese colleges and universities. The Ministry of Education of Guangxi extended invitation to the TAU President and university officials to the 2017 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibit and Forum on September 12-15, 2017 in Nanning, the Capital City of Guangxi.
