To introduce imperative changes on protocols guiding sexual harassment (SH) cases, the Office of Gender and Development (GAD) steered a seminar-workshop at the Farmersโ€™ Training Center on 8-9 September.

Focusing on lectures and insights from Ms. Analie B. Apostol, Chief Administrative Officer of Office of Solicitor Generalโ€™s Human Resource Management Division, said preparatory sessions initiated the formulation of a manual for Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI).

During the first session, Ms. Apostol gave updates and clarifications on revisions incorporated on administrative SH rules and subsequently directed plenary discussions, output presentations, and critiquing.

GAD Director, Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, explained that TAU invited Ms. Apostol due to her expertise when it comes to legal foundation and policy basis in handling SH cases especially in the government sector.

โ€œWe also involved representatives from all of TAUโ€™s key offices to ensure stakeholdersโ€™ active participation and to reflect our commitment to championing Safe Spaces Act in the university,โ€ Dr. Villaruel added.

Supported by Ms. Yolanda F. Juan, Officer-in-Charge for the Office of Vice President for Finance and Administration (OVPFA), the forum also shed light on related issues like personnel composition of CODI, processes in managing SH incidents, and confidentiality provisions.
