The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the National Service Training Program (NSTP) strengthens student emergency response skills during the โ€œGender-Responsive Training on Emergency Response (First Aid, Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) for NSTP studentsโ€ held at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center on 24 January.

The whole day activity includes four modules and hands-on training. TAU-NSTP, in compliance with Republic Act 10121 also known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, aims to adhere to the mandates that integrate disaster preparedness and education into school curricula and training programs.

Furthermore, the NSTP office intends to enhance the competency of students in terms of dealing with emergencies that come in the wake of natural or man-made calamities, as this is in line with the national program of the Department of Education (DepED), Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in collaboration with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), among other agencies.

Running is the ultimate metaphor for dreams. Each stride is already a destination, each finish line a story.

In a relay, that story becomes shared. The baton pass is a pact of duty, linking solitary contribution to a collective effort. For Tarlac Agricultural Universityโ€™s (TAU) athletes heading to the Regional SCUAA Games 2026, the track is a proving ground. Four determined runners, each in their own lane, are ready to carry the Universityโ€™s hopes forward.

Tarlaqueรฑo Jhaypee D. Maglalang is a hurdler and relay runner, he navigates the dual obstacles of academics and sports, inspired by his idol, Usain Bolt, and believing that true achievement is forged through sacrifice. A Deanโ€™s Lister, he finds his pace at TAU, within a supportive community that acts as his second team, and where encouragement from teachers and staff helps him maintain balance. For Jhaypee, the race is about clean technique and consistent momentum, both on the track and in life.

The race for John Raven C. Villa is a marathon of grit. Specializing in the grueling 3000m to 10,000m events, his challenge is the ever-present shadow of injury, a setback that could erase months of training. Inspired by the humility of athlete Arlan Arbois Jr., he runs to build a better future for his family, viewing each exhausting lap at TAU as a necessary step toward a more stable finish line far beyond his home province of Batangas and the University oval.

Spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council (SSC), the University community comes together today, 23 January, for a massive University-Wide Clean-Up Drive, mobilizing students, faculty, and staff across their respective colleges and offices to scrub, sweep, and organize.

Answering the SSCโ€™s call to prepare the campus for the opening of Academic Year 2025-2026, participants armed with their own cleaning materials work to transform physical spaces into a pristine study and work environment. This collective effort reinforces the SSCโ€™s message: a cleaner campus ensures a stronger, brighter start to the year for all.
