Celebrating eight decades of dedicated service, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) culminated its week-long Founding Anniversary celebration with the theme โ80 Years of Excellence: Cultivating Innovation, Sustainability, and Global Leadership,โ at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center on 19 December.
The commemorative program featured a festive atmosphere including fellowship, socialization, cha-cha dance competition, best-dressed award, raffle draws, and games.
TAU retirees also took part in the celebration, as part of TAUโs tradition promoting inclusivity and honoring its legacy.
Meanwhile, the event also featured an anniversary message from TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, bringing the milestone to a meaningful close, grounded in gratitude, reflection, and a renewed sense of purpose.
As the week-long celebration of Tarlac Agricultural Universityโs 80th Founding Anniversary draws to a close, University President Silverio Ramon DC. Salunsonโs message resonates as a fitting conclusion to a milestone marked by gratitude, reflection, and renewed purpose. In welcoming the TAU community to the Anniversary Convocation, he underscored the remarkable collective journey that transformed the institution from a modest high school into a globally engaged university. He paid tribute to the people behind this progress, affirming that TAUโs true strength lies in its shared vision, unity, and enduring commitment to service and excellence.
Anchored on the anniversary theme, President Salunson honored the Universityโs rich history while calling on the community to face future challenges with confidence and resolve. He framed pressing global concerns such as climate change, food security, and sustainable development not as obstacles, but as opportunities for TAU to further advance research, strengthen partnerships, and expand its global presence. As the celebration concludes, his message leaves the University community with a clear sense of direction and optimism, affirming that TAU moves forward into its next decade ready to lead with innovation, sustainability, and a strong global perspective.
Highlighting the fusion of tradition and innovation, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) conducts the Harvest Festival and welcomes guests to the SMART Agriculture Center as part of its 80th founding anniversary celebration, 18 December.
The Harvest Festival is part of TAUโs participation in the vegetable derby, where various seed organizations showcase the diversity of local agricultural produce and help farmers identify seed varieties suited to local conditions.
The event also highlights different food stalls and merchandise located in front of the TAU Multipurpose Center that feature agricultural products, technologies, and services from various organizations and partners.
In addition, TAU opens its SMART Agriculture Center to visiting delegates, providing a closer look at technology-driven solutions in agriculture. Demonstrations feature precision farming tools, data-based decision systems, and modern production techniques aligned with climate-smart and sustainable practices.
