During the grand Convocation for Tarlac Agricultural Universityโs (TAU) 80th Founding Anniversary on 18 December, University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson framed TAUโs eight decades as a symbolic call to advance the institutionโs worldwide influence while renewing commitment to its core mission. The event, held at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center, centered on the anniversary motto, โ80 Years of Excellence: Cultivating Innovation, Sustainability, and Global Leadership,โ drawing together the TAU community and distinguished guests in a shared vision for the future.
Representation marked the day from its start, with the planting of a native oak as a living โLegacy Treeโ, an act embodying growth, resilience, and TAUโs pledge to environmental stewardship.
In his keynote address, President Salunson urged the academic community to reflect on its journey with gratitude and move forward with a clear purpose. โThis occasion invites us to look back with gratitude and forward with purpose,โ he stated, challenging TAUians to consider โwhat we have become and what we choose to pursue.โ He highlighted that, over generations, the University has produced not only farmers and educators but also innovators, entrepreneurs, scientists, and leaders who drive progress locally and abroad.
