In alignment with its sustainability objectives, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) will launch a ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ซ-๐ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ฒ initiative. Effective every Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, this policy prohibits private vehicles from using all internal campus roads. The measure aims to enhance air quality, minimize congestion and noise, and encourage environmentally friendly transportation alternatives such as walking or biking.
The implementation will occur in three phases: an informational period in January 2026, a trial period in February where the rule is followed without penalty, and full enforcement beginning in March. Vehicles already parked on campus before 8:00 AM may remain stationary but cannot be moved until after the car-free hours conclude. Individuals arriving later, particularly students, must use designated off-campus parking areas at their own discretion.ย
Exemptions are granted for emergency, University-approved, and essential service vehicles. The OVPFA will provide oversight, while the General Services Office (GSO) will handle day-to-day implementation.
