Ms. Caroline N. Gabis, Chief for Partnership Development of the External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) Office, represented Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in the Foreign Scholarships and Training Program (FSTP) and Erasmus+ Caravan โ€“ Luzon Leg held at the Monarch Hotel in Calasiao, Pangasinan on October 22-23, 2025.

The event was organized by the Commission on Higher Education โ€“ International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS), led by Atty. Lily Freida Milla, CESO III, OIC Deputy Executive Director, in coordination with CHED Regional Office I, under the supervision of TAU-ELIAโ€™s former Director, Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, now appointed Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Deputy Executive Director IV of CHED.

In line with the goal of strengthening collaborative initiatives between Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) and the European Union, academic leaders and representatives from various HEIs in Luzon engaged in sessions aimed at broadening their understanding of academic exchanges, mobility programs, institutional partnerships, and linkages.

Ms. Gabis participated in several discussions throughout the program, including topics on the role of Erasmus+ National Focal Point (ENFP) and CHED Erasmus+ initiatives, cooperation between Erasmus+ and PH-EU Higher Education, international credit mobility, capacity building in higher education, and workshops on Erasmus+.

This was followed by a presentation on the FSTP Official Development Assistance (ODA) and CHEDโ€™s role in the selection process. Participants also explored various scholarship programs offered by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), and the Fulbright Programs.

TAUโ€™s participation in this event underscores its commitment to advancing internationalization efforts and enhancing institutional capacity in exploring opportunities for mobility of its students, faculty, and staff.ย
