Today, 26 January, the whole Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) community gathers for a simultaneous flag-hoisting ceremony, and shares expressions of patriotism and institutional solidarity.Β
At the Learning Resource Center (LRC), the ceremony formally opens with the singing of hymns and recitation of pledges led by the Rootcrops Research and Training Center (RRTC).
Subsequently, Engr. Benjie M. Dela Vega, Director of General Services Office (GSO), announces the start of implementation of βCar-Free Fridayβ starting 30 January. This program intends to support the wellness of TAU employees and students while contributing to SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) 3 - Good Health and Well-Being.
Meanwhile, the Chief Administrative Officer for Administration (CAO-Admin), Ms. Yolanda F. Juan, shares a soft reminder to vehicle owners who are entering the University to secure their gate-pass sticker and coordinate with the Business and Auxiliary Services (BAS) for instructions.
Correspondingly, the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo, encourages everyone to make health a top priority and visit the Medical and Dental Unit (MDU) for free supplements and medicines.Β
Dr. Lorenzo also commends everyone for their continuous dedication leading to a fruitful month of January for TAU.
At the same time, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), and the Laboratory School (LS) also hold their own flag-raising ceremony which also serves as a venue to acknowledge the collegesβ milestones.
The University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson joins the ceremony at the CAF grounds and announces the renovation of the old and new buildings of CAF to cater to the growing number of CAF students and provide a student-centered and more functional learning environment.
Dr. Salunson also directs all the faculty members and staff to attend the ceremony every Monday.
At the same time, the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA) Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, participates with the CAS community during the flag-raising ceremony and emphasizes the recent topics that were discussed during the Talakayan.Β
Dr. Torres reminds all the faculty members to submit grades on time to avoid disruptions and issues with student records. He also encourages the students to continue studying diligently and finish their courses on time. Student leaders were also advised to organize activities without interfering with class schedules.
