Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) is launching ππππππππ πππ: ππππππππππ πππππ ππππ, a new sustainability and cost-saving program designed to reduce our environmental impact. Scheduled for the last Friday of each month from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, this initiative requires all non-essential lights and electrical equipment in administrative and academic buildings to be switched off.Β
The implementation of this energy-saving hour will be led by the OVPFA, with day-to-day management handled by the General Services Office (GSO). A dedicated Technical Working Group (TWG), including representatives from various campus sectors, will monitor and evaluate the program's progress. Full cooperation from everyone is essential for this initiative to succeed in conserving resources and contributing to our broader environmental objectives.
The program aligns with national energy laws and supports our strategic goal for a greener campus, aiming to cultivate a shared culture of conservation across the university community. Certain critical areas, such as active classrooms, research labs, and security systems, will remain operational to ensure safety and continuity.
