The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the National Service Training Program (NSTP) strengthens student emergency response skills during the โGender-Responsive Training on Emergency Response (First Aid, Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) for NSTP studentsโ held at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center on 24 January.
The whole day activity includes four modules and hands-on training. TAU-NSTP, in compliance with Republic Act 10121 also known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, aims to adhere to the mandates that integrate disaster preparedness and education into school curricula and training programs.
Furthermore, the NSTP office intends to enhance the competency of students in terms of dealing with emergencies that come in the wake of natural or man-made calamities, as this is in line with the national program of the Department of Education (DepED), Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in collaboration with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), among other agencies.
