๐‚๐‡๐‘๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐‚๐‹๐„๐’ | TAU-CVM Students Showcase Academic Excellence in PARAmihan ng Alam 2026 at UPLB

Students from Tarlac Agricultural University - College of Veterinary Medicine (TAU-CVM) took part and represented the University in the PARAmihan ng Alam 2026 at the CVM-IAS Communal Building Lecture Room of the UP Los Baรฑos on 7 March 2026.ย

The national quiz competition for veterinary students hosted by the University of the Philippines (UP) Alpha Chiron Society, brought together veterinary medicine students from different universities across the country to test their knowledge in Veterinary Parasitology. The event also served as a venue for aspiring veterinarians to showcase their academic competence and to develop camaraderie and professional collaboration among future veterinarians.

For this event, two teams from TAU-CVM competed. Team A comprised Scott Renz O. Tomas, Breighton C. Trinidad, and Jona Eleazer Z. Mesa, while Team B consisted of Alfred J. Soriano, Jomarie S. Tamondong, and Lance Kaydence M. Cabigting. Both teams represented TAU with honor and a strong commitment to veterinary medicine.

The involvement of TAU-CVM faculty mentors, Dr. Regina C. Villarama and Dr. Jerico V. Dumale, was critical in facilitating students' attendance at the event. The mentors voiced their pride in the students and emphasized the importance of such participatory academic endeavors in the veterinary profession in regard to students' self-assurance, skill, and holistic development.

As for this yearโ€™s contest, the champion title was bagged by the Central Luzon State University (CLSU). The University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos (UPLB) and De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) took the 1st and 2nd runner-up spots, respectively.

The rigorous competition has been an indicator of TAU-CVMโ€™s improvement in the arena of academics and its participation in PARAmihan ng Alam 2026 reinforces TAU-CVMโ€™s dedication towards fostering students to be competent, skillful, and globally competitive veterinarians.

Students and faculty members from the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and the College of Education (CEd) of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) energize the campus with lively Zumba routines as they spearhead the Student Wellness Program on 6 February 2026, at the Laboratory School (LS) Covered Court.

The activity is spearheaded by the Sociocultural Development Office (SDO) in coordination with CVM and CEd Student Council officers, faculty members, and Sociocultural Coordinators Dr. Mc Joe D. Lagula and Mr. Pastor V. Ambat III. Other student organizations, including the Rodeo Club, Venerable Knight Veterinarians Fraternity (VKV), and Venerable Lady Veterinarians Sorority (VLV) - IOTA Chapter, Veterinary Student Achieversโ€™ Society (VSAS), and the CVM Cliniciansโ€™ Club, also lead energetic dance routines that encourage active participation from students across the University.

This initiative promotes student well-being while creating opportunities for social interaction, physical activity, and stronger campus engagement among learners from different colleges. Through upbeat music and dynamic dance movements, students enjoy a refreshing break from their academic routines while strengthening camaraderie and school spirit.
