In alignment with its sustainability objectives, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) will launch a 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫-𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 initiative. Effective every Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, this policy prohibits private vehicles from using all internal campus roads. The measure aims to enhance air quality, minimize congestion and noise, and encourage environmentally friendly transportation alternatives such as walking or biking.

The implementation will occur in three phases: an informational period in January 2026, a trial period in February where the rule is followed without penalty, and full enforcement beginning in March. Vehicles already parked on campus before 8:00 AM may remain stationary but cannot be moved until after the car-free hours conclude. Individuals arriving later, particularly students, must use designated off-campus parking areas at their own discretion. 

Exemptions are granted for emergency, University-approved, and essential service vehicles. The OVPFA will provide oversight, while the General Services Office (GSO) will handle day-to-day implementation.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) is launching 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐈𝐃 𝐓𝐀𝐔: 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑, a new sustainability and cost-saving program designed to reduce our environmental impact. Scheduled for the last Friday of each month from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, this initiative requires all non-essential lights and electrical equipment in administrative and academic buildings to be switched off. 

The implementation of this energy-saving hour will be led by the OVPFA, with day-to-day management handled by the General Services Office (GSO). A dedicated Technical Working Group (TWG), including representatives from various campus sectors, will monitor and evaluate the program's progress. Full cooperation from everyone is essential for this initiative to succeed in conserving resources and contributing to our broader environmental objectives. 

The program aligns with national energy laws and supports our strategic goal for a greener campus, aiming to cultivate a shared culture of conservation across the university community. Certain critical areas, such as active classrooms, research labs, and security systems, will remain operational to ensure safety and continuity.
