Four (4) students of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) participated in the International Forum on Mental Health and Well-being hosted by Universitas Airlangga in Indonesia from 9-13 February.

The student delegates consist of Ms. Juliana R. Tangonan, Ms. Bea Marie Yvette R. Guzman, Mr. Glenn William S. Ruiz, and Mr. Jhacob B. De Asis were joined by Dr. Benny S. Soliman, faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) who attended as Visiting Lecturer. Together, they were able to obtain important knowledge about the latest trends, issues, and interventions regarding mental health and well-being. The conference enabled the participants to interact with experts from around the globe, exchange knowledge with other academics, and gain insight into various perspectives on enhancing psychological resilience and overall well-being.

Furthermore, Dr. Soliman being a Visiting Lecturer, also facilitated knowledge exchange and academic collaboration - thus, further strengthening institutional linkages with UNAIR. Meanwhile, the students enhanced their academic and professional competencies, particularly in global mental health perspectives, intercultural communication, and collaborative learning.

This event exemplifies TAUโ€™s efforts towards internationalization and achieving its goals of preparing globally-minded students and faculty members to make a valuable contribution to mental health and well-being.

Demonstrating its strong commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), College of Education (CEd) conducts the โ€œClean and Green Sitio Baag: Community Clean-Up Drive and Beautification Programโ€ on April 10, 2026, in San Jose, Tarlac. In partnership with the Municipal Tourism Office, led by Mr. Christian F. Lantano, the activity mobilizes students and faculty in promoting ecological awareness and shared responsibility in preserving local tourist sites.

Second-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) students, first-year Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) students, and Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) officers actively participate in cleaning and restoring key areas such as Lubigan Picnic Grounds, Mt. Ngile Picnic Grounds, and Sitio Baag View Deck. The initiative is reinforced through the installation of environmental awareness signages and the provision of waste bins, encouraging sustainable practices among community members under the guidance of faculty members Ms. Angelu Jane I. Galicia and Mx. Norman Elynmer P. Cortez.

Anchored on TAUโ€™s extension mandate, the activity goes beyond a one-day clean-up drive by instilling environmental responsibility and civic consciousness among future educators. Through initiatives like this, TAU continues to empower its students as agents of change transforming knowledge into action and strengthening partnerships toward building cleaner, greener, and more sustainable communities.
