Concluding the celebration of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Week, the faculty members along with CAS Student Council (SC) conducted an outreach program at Sitio Dueg, San Clemente, Tarlac, and extended assistance and meaningful interaction to residents.

The CAS community led an organized activity, distributed support materials, and reinforced the extension effort of the University while promoting empathy, social responsibility, and civic consciousness among the students.

The project highlighted the importance of higher education institutions as centers of instruction and research, as well as partners in community development.

In the afternoon, the celebration transitioned to a formal program held at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center Gymnasium with the theme โ€œBurnt-Brown Coachellaโ€ and consisted of the grand entrance of participants, performances by students and faculty members, messages from university officials, and a recognition of retirees and alumni. Interactive games, a ramp show, and an awarding ceremony emphasized talent and participation, followed by dinner and a fellowship party that fostered a sense of community.

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) recently highlighted academic excellence and camaraderie as students gathered for the VKV-VLV Local Veterinary Quiz Contest, held at the College of Education (CEd) Audio-Visual Room on 13 February. Organized by the VKV Fraternity-VLV Sorority IOTA Chapter - TAU, the event united aspiring veterinarians from various year levels in a dynamic and engaging competition that challenged their knowledge, teamwork, and ability to stay composed under pressure.

A total of 34 teams, each composed of three members from third- to sixth-year veterinary students, competed in the quiz bee. The contest aimed to strengthen students' mastery of veterinary concepts while encouraging healthy academic competition and collaboration among peers.ย

In her opening remarks, Dr. Lavina Gracia P. Ramirez, CVM Dean, emphasized the importance of academic competitions in shaping future professionals. She described the event as both a privilege and a valuable learning opportunity, noting that it gives students a broader understanding of veterinary science. Encouraging sportsmanship and unity, she reminded participants to play honestly and support one another so that more students would feel inspired to represent the university in competitions beyond campus.

The competition was adjudicated by a panel of quiz masters composed of Dr. Allan Jeffrey A. Francia, Dr. Shekinah Phoebe S. Baccay, Dr. Mc Joe D. Lagula, and Dr. Jericho R. Baguistan. The quiz bee featured four rounds: Easy, Average, Individual, and Difficult. Each round contained 10 questions that gradually increased in complexity to challenge the contestants.

For the first time in the history of Tarlac Agricultural University, a softball team is set to represent the institution in the SCUAA III Regional Meet. From February 21 to 27, the 14 women of the TAU Softball Team will take the field at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) carrying not just their gloves and bats, but the weight of history.ย

It is a debut that has been a long time coming, and for these athletes, the game is just beginning.

Leading the charge is Team Captain Winnie Rose S. Santos, a second-year BS Development Communication student who will be holding down Center Field. As her and Kristine P. Salmoโ€™s (Vice Captain) names appear on the lineup card, they represent more than just positions, they embody the hopeful swing of a program finding its footing.

Alongside them are familiar names like Hannah Abegail G. Bacani in Right Field, who will be tasked with setting the tone from the very first pitch. Coached by Ms. Minda M. Mondiguing, the roster reads like a cross-section of the University itself, with players coming from diverse courses at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), College of Engineering and Technology (CET), College of Business and Management (CBM), and College of Education (CEd).

Ruby B. Bermido brings her experience to Shortstop, while Magielyn G. Daguio anchors Third Base. Frances Izy L. Dela Cruz patrols Center Field, and Katriona O. Fajardo holds down Second Base. This is not just a team of athletes, but a group of future professionals who happen to share a love for the diamond. Their teamwork and strategy will be tested against seasoned competitors from across the region.

Solidifying its status as a cornerstone of poverty alleviation and inclusive economic empowerment, the Tarlac Agricultural University Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TAU-MPC) convened its stakeholders for the Annual General Assembly at the Continuing Education Center on 13 February. The event served as a dual celebration, marking both a year of record growth and the cooperativeโ€™s recent designation as the 2025 Most Outstanding Cooperative in the Province of Tarlac.

The formal proceedings opened with a comprehensive review of the 2025 fiscal year. Mr. Eduardo D. Cabrera III presented the Accomplishment Report, detailing operational triumphs that exceeded service targets despite challenges posed by new ventures introduced in the previous year. His report highlighted the cooperativeโ€™s resilience and its ability to pivot effectively in a competitive market.

This was followed by a crucial financial briefing from Mr. Dante A. Revamonte, who showcased a healthy balance sheet and introduced the 2026 Annual Procurement Plan (APP). The roadmap emphasizes strategic investments and expanded business opportunities, such as livestock and van rentals, designed to ensure long-term sustainability and diversified income streams for its growing membership.
