The Korean Association of Southeast Asian Studies (KASEAS) opens one slot for a postgraduate student (master’s or doctoral) in the Philippines who are currently enrolled in any higher education institution (HEI) including Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), to apply for the ASEAN–Korean Young Scholar Research Grant 2025.

Postgraduate students whose study covers the following areas are encouraged to apply:

Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) or any specific ASEAN countries ASEAN–Korea relations and comparative research

ASEAN-Korea cooperation priorities (gender, climate change, sustainable development, cyber security, and peacebuilding)

ASEAN Post-2025 Vision (integration, connectivity, institutional development, identity politics, regional geopolitics)

Interdisciplinary studies in science technology and engineering with Southeast Asian relevance

In light of the rising incidence of communicable diseases, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) underscores the importance of following strict health and safety protocols across all academic and administrative units. 

Per Memo 215, s. 2025, members of the TAU community are enjoined to observe preventive measures such as regular handwashing, good respiratory hygiene, proper ventilation in classrooms and offices, and immediate quarantine for sick individuals. Vaccination and participation in health information drives are strongly encouraged to minimize risks and safeguard the well-being of everyone.

The University highlights several diseases of concern, including influenza, measles, shingles, leptospirosis, hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD), and chickenpox. These illnesses may be transmitted through droplets, contaminated water, or direct contact with infected fluids, and are characterized by symptoms such as fever, rashes, cough, and body aches.

Per memo 211, s. 2025, all employees are hereby reminded to wear the prescribed office uniform and appropriate work attire while inside the campus, effective immediately. This is in accordance with University policies and Civil Service Commission (CSC) guidelines. Your cooperation in presenting a professional image for members of the TAU community is highly appreciated.

Please be guided by this weekly schedule for your attire: wear the new ASEAN/ Filipiniana-inspired uniform on Mondays and the old university-issued uniform on Tuesdays. Wednesdays are for smart casual (faculty) or department/ TAU shirts (non-teaching), followed by college/ department or TAU shirts on Thursdays. Fridays are for any appropriate office attire.

In a supportive move for the entire University community, the Office of the University President (OUP) has officially approved a one-day Mental Health Break on 30 October 2025. This initiative is a direct response to the Supreme Student Council's (SSC) request and reflects Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) deep commitment to holistic student well-being, providing a crucial pause for rest and recuperation following the demands of the midterm examination period.

This break also serves a dual purpose by allowing students, faculty, and staff ample time to travel home safely ahead of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day holidays. By enabling the community to depart ahead of peak traffic, the University hopes to alleviate travel stress and ensure everyone can enjoy a more meaningful and extended period with their families.
