The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the National Service Training Program (NSTP), Gender and Development (GAD) office, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and the University Disaster Risk Reduction Management (UDRRM) spearheaded a training on basic life support, first-aid procedures, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) administration to the senior high-school students of TAU Laboratory School (LS) at the TAU - Covered Court from 17-19 March.
In coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), said activity is part of the celebration of National Womenโs Month that aims to prepare the students and respond effectively in real-life scenarios.
The training commenced with theoretical discussions facilitated by the PDRRMO Training Officer Mr. Sherwin Rosales and his team, where they emphasized the role of every individual, regardless of gender preferences, in actual circumstances. He also led the facilitation of experiential learning in giving emergency care, handling patients in shock, demonstration of bandaging, proper treatment of wounds, and other diverse scenarios.
